accomplishments?
Paige
Cothren made All Big 8, All State, All
South and All American as a high school
fullback. Paige made All SEC, All
South, and All American as a fullback at Ole
Miss. Paige won the Jacoler
Blocking Trophy as the best blocker in the SEC
at Ole Miss in 1955 and led the SEC in scoring
in 1955 (the only time one person has done
both). He led the SEC and the nation in field
goals kicked and in kick scoring in both 1955
and 1956. He played in the Sugar Bowl, the
Cotton Bowl, the College All-Star game, the
North-South All-Star game, and the Hula Bowl. He
played for the Los Angeles Rams and the
Philadelphia Eagles. Paige led the
National Football League in field goals kicked
and was second in scoring in 1958. Earned a BBA
and Masters Degree, taught college courses, was
a college dean of students, founded a counseling
center where 1,500 people were counseled per
year. He was managing director of a resort and
golf club, and owned three supermarkets.
